Russian mayor says Moscow intercepted over thirty Ukrainian drone
In a series of posts spanning late Sunday into early Monday, Sobyanin reported that the raid involved at least 37 drones. He noted that emergency services were responding to locations where debris had fallen, but did not provide information on casualties or ground damage.
Explosions were reportedly heard across several suburban towns to the south and southeast of Moscow, including Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk. No injuries or structural damage have been reported. Temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, situated about 40 km south and southeast of the capital.
Moscow had experienced a smaller drone attack the previous Saturday, involving seven drones. Ukraine has frequently carried out long-range drone raids deep into Russian territory, targeting energy infrastructure, critical facilities, and residential areas, prompting Russian authorities to denounce the operations as “acts of terrorism.”
