Trump Expresses Hopes for National Healing Following Kirk’s Murder
“We’ll see what happens. They (the left) don’t like what’s been happening. We’ve been winning very big,” he added, underscoring his ongoing frustration with political adversaries.
Kirk, 31, was shot and killed on Wednesday while addressing students at Utah Valley University in Orem, approximately 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. Despite security measures—including six university police officers and Kirk's private security team—the apparent targeted attack unfolded in broad daylight.
Shocking video footage from the scene captured the moment a bullet struck Kirk, causing students to flee in terror. He was quickly transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
In a separate post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his grief and outrage over the killing, writing: “To my great fellow Americans, I am filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah.”
Trump also blamed the extreme rhetoric from the radical left, claiming that for years, figures on the left have equated honorable Americans like Charlie to Nazis and some of history's most notorious criminals. He argued that this inflammatory language is a direct catalyst for the violence and terrorism currently affecting the nation.
