UAE summons Israel’s deputy ambassador for “cowardly and reckless” Israeli attack on Qatar
Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, the UAE’s state minister for international cooperation, expressed Abu Dhabi’s “strong condemnation and denunciation” of the strike and criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “aggressive statements,” emphasizing that Qatar’s security is crucial to the stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Earlier reports indicated that Israel’s ambassador to the UAE was also called in for a formal reprimand following the airstrike on Hamas officials in Qatar.
On Tuesday, Israeli warplanes targeted Hamas leadership in Doha, killing five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer. The following day, Netanyahu addressed Qatar directly, stating: “You either expel them (Hamas) or you bring them to justice. Because if you don’t, we will.”
