Iran, France, UK, Germany to gather in Geneva for discussions
The discussions will take place at the level of deputy foreign ministers, a spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry confirmed on Monday.
Alongside nuclear-related issues, the agenda includes Iran’s call for lifting sanctions and deliberations on UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorsed the 2015 nuclear accord between Tehran and major world powers. The talks will also explore possible next steps for the agreement.
News of the planned meeting followed a phone conversation held last Friday between Iran’s foreign minister and his counterparts from the three European countries, collectively known as the E3, as well as the European Union’s foreign policy chief.
